Hi, everyone! Hedgy the Hedgehog here, and it’s SATURDAY… so I’m going to Prickly Point! All week it’s been test after test. Math tests, science tests, ELA tests, and every other kind of test that’s possibly possible in this world of possibilities. After a week like that, I really hope you got tickets, because Prickly Point is the greatest theme park ever!

Let’s start off easy at the Quill-Cups. It’s a whirlwind of fun, get it? Did you know our quills are made of keratin? People always mix up our quills with porcupine quills, but ours don’t come off! They just stick up when we get defensive, and they’re not even barbed.
Oh- it’s our turn. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was awesome! You okay? Good thing we saved lunch for later…

Look! It’s Hedgehog’s Splashdown, the most amazing water ride ever. You do like water rides, right? No? Well, we’re already at the gate! On our way up, I can tell you all about hedgehogs and water. We’re very good swimmers because of the air trapped in our hollow quills. It can also help with hydrotherapy.
Now for the drop…wOOOoooOOOooo! I think we should stop for lunch, so we can dry off.
Let’s head to Hedgehog Hollow, the food court. What are you thinking, some scrumptious leaves, fresh caterpillars, maybe a few eggs? A cheeseburger, what’s that? I’m pretty sure they don’t have those. Let’s head to The Hedge-Hogging Cafe; they have the BEST salads. Hedgehogs are omnivores because we love to eat insects. My favorite foods, however, are still leafy greens!
I think we should visit Nocturnal Navigation next. I need to get away from this heat! It’s quite the thrill ride, completely in the dark. Thankfully, we hedgehogs can see in the darkness, even if we’re not exactly amazing at it. Our other senses make up for it, though. We’re nocturnal, after all, and sunlight can be kind of rough on us.
This is my favorite ride in the whole park! Especially because we might run into some surprises along the way. See you at the end…

It’s tradition to end a day at Prickly Point with the Hibernation Station. It winds around the whole park. I think you’re going to need it. You look a little pale after that ride. I have plenty of facts to tell you about hibernation. During winter, we hibernate for four to five months in a nest called a hibernaculum. Too bad we can’t watch the sunset in them, though. Back to the facts, our heart rate can drop to less than 20 beats per minute. Oh look, there’s the end… Quickly, one more fact! Our body temperature can drop to 5°C (41°F), it’s crazy.
Well, even though the day is over, I still had a lot of fun. Except now I have to go home and do HOMEWORK FOR SCHOOL ON MONDAY… THE HORROR!!!
