A love note from the Wred Feather

Dear Wredling,

Thank you for the educational snack crackers! I speak for all of the students when I say that the whole-grain snacks this year were… interesting. This is my personal favorite item on the approved snack list: WG Educational Snacks Crackers (1oz). If you need to learn and eat, enjoy some educational snack crackers!

Thank you for the food fights in the hallways! In my first year here at Wredling, I somehow got both an apple and an orange thrown at me in the hallway. Oh, and a water bottle squirted at me! It was annoying at the time, but looking back, it’s actually pretty funny, so thanks, 8th-grade boys, for making a messy, but unforgettable passing period!

Thank you for the Thanks for the Caudills and Cookies book club, along with all the other fun LRC events! I will always look back to the wonderful books we read (some of them), the delicious food, and the positive memories that were made!

Also, thank you for the candy salad, sugar overload, and the fact that I didn’t get to present my social studies project on the last day of 6th grade last year!

Thank you for the activities, friendships, and everything from the chaotic hallways to the cozy classrooms! Thank you for the spectacular teachers and helpful classmates. Thank you for the group projects in Social Studies and the races for breakout. Thank you for the jokes in Math and ELA that will never get old. This year has been so awesome, and I’ll never forget it!

Thank you for all of the amazing experiences, like the ColorPalooza. And thanks for pausing my Chromebook screen when I was sure to win my game. Lastly, thanks for the constant traffic jams in the hallways and to the people who almost ran me over. – Asher Patel

Thank you for the opportunities this year! We met new people and got to join new clubs, like Redhawk Strings and the Wred Feather! We have thrived together, with engaging lessons (my favorite being ELA), and have learned together. It was so much fun, and I look forward to next year!

Thanks for all of the AMAZING teachers and opportunities that have been provided for us to learn and grow. Thank you for the opportunity to present about AVID in front of all the Redhawk staff at a faculty meeting. Thanks for making me jump when my friend screamed in the hallway, and to the students behind us who were chanting along. Lastly, thank you for being part of one of the most important eras of my life.

Thank you for saving me by the bell and Hapara-ing me right when I was winning my Gimkit. Thank you to the people who run into me in the hallways, for the stress that comes with the one-minute bell, and for the piles of homework! I truly can’t wait to be back next year! Also….

Thank you for the hallways filled with slow-moving 8th graders. Because of them, I was always running late and got my daily sprints in, so I wouldn’t get a tardy and have lunch detention. Thank you for being so big, Wredling, that I easily get my 6,500 steps in every day.

Thank you for the memes that were yelled in the hallways every 30 seconds, causing people to turn around, then trip and fall. Shout out to 6,7 and all the teachers that tried to stop it, even though they failed. Worth a shot, though!

Anyway… thank you for a great school year, and thank you, teachers, because you have made me grow in my educational learning! Also, thank you for making us wake up at 6:30 in the morning to get ready for school, and eat breakfast in 5 MINUTES, before the stinky bus arrived! Anyway, back to the good stuff… Thank you for having some cool events in the school like Caudills and Cookies, Wred Feather, and all the cool escape rooms and fun trivias! They are awesome! Thank you to the chairs, who always managed to be comfortable one minute, breaking the next, and falling afterwards. Thank you for the classrooms, the ones covered in white paint galore, like a blank world where personality is nonexistent without people. A big, not sarcastic thanks to the extracurriculars, like the ones I take, where creativity can be abundant, in music, in theatre, and in writing. Thank you to the Chromebooks, where caring did not equate to cooperation, and on the Chromebooks, thank you to the software on the Chromebooks, like Classlink, Hapara, EHall Pass, Securly, I-Ready, and Gaggle, all contributing to a 1984-esque livelihood that students experience on Chromebooks.

Thank you to my peers who could both provide the best insights I had ever heard or annoy me for hours. In all seriousness, thank you to the teachers, as many of you helped me understand myself better and learn and do stuff about things I am interested in. The substitutes, as well as even when my teacher was there, you could keep the class running somewhat smoothly. Thank you to music (not the companies that run the app, just the music) that I could listen to on my phone to drown out whatever was happening on the bus. Thank you to all the things that made school an… experience.

Nathan Maritote, Staff Writer

Nathan Maritote is a 6th grader on team 6-4, and is super happy to be writing in the Wred Feather. Obviously, this is his first year at Wred Feather. Nathan loves to read, hang out with his friends, build with LEGOs, and play video games in his free time. He is super eager to write, and he hopes you will find his stories interesting.

Elena Kohn is a 7th-grade Infinity student. She loves to read and write. In addition to writing for the Wred Feather, Elena also does Tech Crew for the Fall Musical and Spring Play. Don’t tell anyone, but she is from Pluto. She’s excited for her second year at The Wred Feather!

Asher Patel, Staff Writer

Asher Patel is an 6th grader on team 6-2. He loves Social Studies, P.E, and Orchestra/Band. Asher is excited to join the Wred Feather and write some bangers.

Olivia Johnson, Staff Writer

Olivia Johnson is a 6th grader at Wredling Middle School. She loves to play softball, volleyball, basketball, and her violin. She also loves to read; her favorite books are Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. She is very excited to write stories for the Wred Feather. She hopes you love the newspaper!

Diya Geeth, Staff Writer

Diya is a 7th grader from Infinity who enjoys Math, Science, and ELA. She loves playing the piano and volleyball. She is excited for her second year in the Newspaper Club at Wredling!

Jane Schuiling, Staff Writer

Jane Schuiling is a 6th grader at Wredling Middle School. She is very eager to write stories and share them with the middle school. At home she likes to read books, do art, and play with friends and family. She also enjoys playing the violin, playing softball, basketball, and acting. She hopes you enjoy the Newspaper stories!

Gianna Alongi, Staff Writer

Gianna Alongi is a 7th grader in team 7-3 who loves math, social studies, French, AVID, and all of the other amazing things about school at Wredling! Gianna loves being a Redhawk and being able to have these amazing teachers. She has one dog and five chickens, who both encourage her to spend all day outside.

Madelyn (Maddie) Bopp, Staff Writer

Maddie Bopp is a 6th grader on team 6-4 at Wredling Middle School. She is also in Art Club, loves AT ELA, and loves to play the violin. Outside of school, she plays the piano, writes fictional stories, and plays soccer (for Lightning)! She also has a dog named Archie, who is the cutest dog in the world!!! Maddie’s favorite color is pink; her favorite food is everything (she has food-fomo); and her favorite animal is Archie! (He’s very rare and energetic) Maddie also has a brother named Grant, who loves her to death. He totally loves her! (wink-wink).

Naomi Johnson, Staff Writer

Naomi is a 6th grader on team 6-2. This is her first time doing the Wred Fether. She is also in student council. She plays in choir and orchestra. She also does gymnastics and volleyball. She loves to write and is excited to join the Wred Feather.

Aarohee Chakravarty, Staff Writer

Aarohee is a 6th grader in Infinity who loves music and cats. She loves writing, singing, and reading, and she does horseback riding. She also plays the violin. She’s really excited to join the Wred Feather this year, and work alongside other writers from WMS! She wants to learn more about events at Wredling, and share that knowledge with her own classmates.

Emery Raiman, Staff Writer

Emery Raiman is a 6th grader who is currently writing a book. Outside of school, she plays softball for the Lightning. Her favorite snack is Ruffles chips with French onion dip. She loves Doritos too, and can’t handle spice.

Jaxon Smith, Editor-in-Chief

Hello! Jaxon is an eighth-grade writer and editor-in-chief for the Wred Feather. Many of his articles are about raising awareness. He is the founder of the games section, and co-writes the games, which many readers have enjoyed playing. He works hard to make his writing intriguing to read. Jaxon likes to travel and has been from the Atlantic to the Pacific. He enjoys writing and gaming, both included in the Wred Feather. He also enjoys the arts, such as playing in three bands, taking part in theatrical productions, and listening to a ton of music. He lives with two amazing dogs. Enjoy the newspaper!

Naomi O’Connell, Co-Editor In Chief

Naomi is a 7th grade Infinity student who loves to write! She is excited to be a Co-Editor In Chief this year! She plays cello and loves reading! Her favorite books are The Hunger Games and The Inheritance Games. She loves to write about animals and things that are going on in the world! She hopes you enjoy reading her articles as much as she loves writing them!
