“Outrageous!”, some say. “Incredible!” said others. District 303 is requiring all students to wear uniforms starting next school year (2026-2027)! Some students are excited, and some are enraged. The district knows that students will have mixed feelings about this, so they have agreed to let the students vote on what uniforms they would like to wear. What does this mean? This means all students within D303 will have to wear certain outfits issued by D303 every day to school. They are requiring PE uniforms and daily uniforms for school. How will this affect our school, and what are the pros and cons of the uniforms? Well, stay tuned, we’ll tell you that next…
Uniforms are designed with a school logo, or something similar, and are more formal than our usual school clothes. While some students like the idea of wearing professional, dressy outfits to school all day, some would rather stay comfy. Uniforms are also enforced by other schools to make everyone feel welcome and equal. The uniforms that are being offered by D303 are various patterns, but all include Wredling’s mascot and school colors. Although there are pros to having uniforms, like making everyone feel welcome, there are also cons, such as costs, and there’s no freedom as to what you can wear. But more about that later, now we’ll share our interview with you.
We interviewed Isabella Jones, the lead designer for the Wredling uniforms. After telling us about her years of experience in the field, she told us that the uniforms she designed were probably the best she had ever made. She also talked about the many quality fabrics and other materials she used to make the Wredling uniforms. Mrs. Jones told us that she is also in charge of making the PE uniforms for the school, and that they are going to be required for all students to wear.
There have been questions about whether or not uniforms will be provided for teachers. The answer is no, there will not be mandatory uniforms for teachers. Also, another question that has been asked is whether students can still wear accessories with their uniforms. D303 has come to the conclusion that yes, students may wear accessories with their uniforms, as long as they’re appropriate and not a distraction. There have also been questions as to whether or not pajama day and other spirit wear will be allowed. The school board has decided that yes, occasionally schools can do spirit weeks where students will be allowed to wear things other than their uniform, as long as it is what the spirit wear day instructs.
The most asked question people have been asking is, ” Why are we getting uniforms?” The reason is that the school has decided that kids have been wearing things that have been deemed inappropriate for school, such as pajamas, crop-tops, ripped jeans, and countless other articles of clothing. We are also getting uniforms because there have been reports of kids being bullied for not having the best or most expensive clothes, so by making uniforms, everyone will be wearing the same thing, and therefore, kids won’t get judged over what they wear.
While this sudden new turn of events leaves students with bittersweet feelings, all students from D303 may vote from these examples, which uniforms you want for next school year (Eighth graders, we can imagine how you are feeling right now!).

I think we should not have uniforms I think that the school is fine how it is and there is no problems with what anyone is wearing from what I have seen I think that the students know to properly dress them self and that if there is a problem with what someone is wearing tell them they cant. then that’s it so I don’t think we should have them.
