Our focus is Christmas and one of its most beloved figures: Santa Claus. On Christmas Eve, Santa is said to fly through the night sky in a sleigh, land on rooftops, and enter homes. Instead of taking things, he leaves gifts, then quietly departs without being seen.

Santa, the Criminal Mastermind

Yes, you read the heading correctly, Santa could be considered a criminal mastermind. This is because he breaks into every kid’s house on the planet, but instead of stealing everything, he gives presents to the good kids and teaches the bad kids a lesson. He escapes through the chimney and is never to be seen again until next Christmas.

A Little Bit about Santa

Santa’s full name is Saint Nicholas. Saint Nicholas was a real person, a Christian bishop who lived in what is now present-day Turkey. Born into a wealthy family, Saint Nicholas was known for his kindness, often dropping gold down the chimneys of poor families to help them. How do you think the “myth” of Santa Claus that originated in Turkey spread across the world? Most likely, immigrants from Turkey moved to Europe, spreading the belief or story. Later, English settlers who made a home in North America spread it even more across America. And before long, everyone knew about Santa Claus, around the world.
