A popular book series, seven books in length. A world of magic. Can you guess the series? It’s the Harry Potter series! Did you know that J.K. Rowling just announced she is planning to release an eighth book? This new book is not going to be an add-on, like The Cursed Child, a play about Harry’s son. The new book, Harry Potter and the Return of the Elderwand, is a direct addition to the main series. The expected publication date is April 2028. However, through an exclusive interview with J.K. Rowling, we can give you some extra information early. First of all, Rowling says that the book takes place “ten years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ends”. It takes place in Scotland and features many unlikely heroes, such as a talking coo (or cow). Read on for an excerpt from the synopsis:

“The young witch finds the pieces of the Elderwand. They receive an invitation to Hogwarts the next day, and go to Diagon Alley to buy supplies. In Ollivander’s Wand Shop, the pieces of the Elderwand glow and assemble themselves before choosing her.”
One of our staff writers, Violet Linton, received an Advanced Reader’s Copy. She said that “This book topped my favorite list! I adored the rising action, because there was a lot of character development and it was very funny.”
If you would like to read it for yourself, make sure to keep an eye out for this amazing new book.
