This article is one of many shorter pieces, pondering what would happen in hypothetical situations. These are inspired by an article called “Everybody Jump” by Randall Munroe.
What if every teacher in the world gave 100% on every assignment, forever?
First, every teacher, every parent to a homeschooler, and everyone who teaches in the world magically gets notified to give every student a 100% on every assignment. For many students, this would be a dream come true. For many teachers, it would lighten the grading load.
This wouldn’t immediately affect the world, but it would affect schools pretty quickly. How can you tell if a student needs support in class when you can’t see how they’re doing? If students can’t get the help they need, they can’t learn. And in colleges, the selection process would be very difficult. How do you differentiate between two students when they have the same grades? The easy answer to these questions is that you don’t. This would mess up our entire school system.
It would also mess up our world. Kids are the future when they grow into adults. If they got 100% on eve ry assignment they turned in, they wouldn’t try hard to learn. If they didn’t learn, then they wouldn’t do their jobs well. Take engineering, for example. You’d need to understand math, science, and technology. If you never learned that well, how would you do your job? Not well.
Without jobs, society would crumble. When all the properly educated die off, only the uneducated are left to lead a crumbling world.

I think this is an awesome article and I agree with you if every teacher gave out 100 percent everyone would be happy. Also I liked how you brought up the grades into adulthood and great evidence for your claim. Love this article. Keep it up!
