Say you go to the beach. You see people playing sand volleyball, building sandcastles, jumping over waves, and much more. But there is something important you notice. Everybody is happy. Let’s address the big question everyone’s asking, why is everybody so happy in the summer? What is different from summer than the rest of the seasons? Many people enjoy summer because of the effects, its scorching heat, and its delicious foods.
The first reason people enjoy summer is because of the effects. These effects could be getting a nice tan, the salty sea water, or even the sand. But the main effect is the sun. The sun gives Vitamin D by its UV rays. Vitamin D is needed

for your bones, blood cells, your immune system, and helps children avoid getting rickets. Rickets can weaken the bones, which is why the sun’s vitamins are so important. It also helps your body take in more minerals, like calcium or phosphorus. But being out in the sun also helps you sleep better, improves your emotional well-being by increasing serotonin, helps young adults and teenagers by decreasing the chances of having problems seeing things at a distance, and can even be used as a treatment for certain skin issues.
A second reason people enjoy summer is because of its scorching heat. But why is this heat caused? Because of Earth’s orbit, we experience many different seasons. The summer’s heat is caused when the North Hemisphere tilts towards

the sun. This makes the daily temperature hotter and makes it stay longer than normally. Which is why some heat waves may be stronger than others. While the Northern Hemisphere is enjoying summer, the Southern Hemisphere is enjoying winter. Once summer ends, Earth orbits the sun and we go into winter. The Northern and Southern hemispheres will never experience summer or winter at the same time.
Finally, the last reason people enjoy summer is because of its delicious foods. Some common foods in the USA during summer are freshly cut fruits, smoothie bowls/drinks, grilled foods

(hotdogs, burgers, brots, etc.), corn on the cob, and much more. But the most common summer food of all is ice cream. Ice cream is a frozen dessert made from butterfat or cream, milk, sugar, and different types of flavorings. It keeps you cool on the hottest days of summer. Ice cream was originally made by the ancient Chinese, but it was brought to Italy by Marco Polo. This started a chain as ice cream was soon taken to France by Catherine de Medici, and lastly brought to America by Thomas Jefferson. Without this delicious, cold, sweet, food, many desserts people desire would be gone.
Overall, summer brings out the happiness of people. It has positive effects on the health of human bodies, comforting heat, and delicious foods!
