After years of navigating school hallways, morning announcements, and the occasional fire drill, Mr. Loversky, Wredling’s beloved principal, is trading in his red pen for a passport, a pizza stone, and a permanent marker!
In a recent interview, Mr. L gave us the inside scoop on what’s next as he graduates from principal to professional adventurer.

Q: Are you planning on taking any grand trips after retirement? If so, who are you going with?
Mr. Loversky: My wife and I are planning a trip that goes from Edinburgh, Scotland, down through the Yorkshire Dales and then to London. Then we are going to go across to Lisbon, Portugal. I love to travel so I am really looking forward to this trip.
Q: What hobbies will you be indulging in post-retirement?
Mr. Loversky: Definitely travel! But I also want to do some volunteering and do some reading.
Q: Is there anything you’ve been wanting to do for a while that you can finally do now that you’re retiring?
Mr. Loversky: There are parts of our house that need some clearing and organizing, but it is hard to get those things done when you work. So, some uninterrupted time to do that work will be helpful.
Q: What is something you definitely won’t be doing now that you’re retiring?
Mr. Loversky: Oh, I have no idea! I am open to just about anything.

Q: What’s on your bucket list?
Mr. Loversky: I actually have a bucket list that I have kept on my phone. It includes: fishing and hunting, learning to knit, keeping bees, learning to blow glass, spontaneous travel, learn to drive a bulldozer, go to a psychic, attend a taping of AFV, travel to Yellowstone in the fall, bungee jump off a tall bridge, ride in a bi-plane, and learn to make really good pizza!
Q: Would you work at any other jobs after retiring?
Mr. Loversky: I absolutely plan to work. I might work for an airline so I can travel for free, or maybe work at Costco as the person who puts smiley faces on receipts when people leave. But who knows! I am open to trying new jobs.
Q: What might a typical day in your life look like after you retire?
Mr. Loversky: Sleep until 8 AM, go work out, read for a while, do some volunteering, cook dinner, watch Survivor and Amazing Race, and go to bed for more sleep! (I love sleep!)
Q: Will you be sneaking into Wredling after retirement to play “Country Roads” on the speakers?
Mr. Loversky: I am certain they would know who snuck in, but I might have a few insiders helping me next year. But I also suspect the next principal might have her own song to play!
As Mr. Loversky embarks on this next chapter, we can only say thank you for the laughs, the leadership, and the legacy. Whether he’s knitting scarves, herding bees, or piloting a bulldozer into the sunset, all country roads will take him home to Wredling, where he will always belong.
