TSA is an amazing club at Wredling Middle School that focuses on engineering and technology. It’s a club full of creativity. Members of TSA create fun projects that require them to think like engineers.
Mr Hensel: Mr Hensel is the leader of TSA. He coaches TSA members to create amazing projects and use their knowledge to build like engineers. Mr. Hensel created TSA “so students could have the opportunity to understand engineering and build things on their own. We have certain goals and ideas that we use.” TSA stands for Technology Student Association. “I didn’t actually choose the name. It’s a national group that another teacher got me interested in, so I joined. We are the only chapter in northern TSA.” Mr. Hensel stated that TSA is about thinking like an engineer, “and having fun while doing it.”
Members of TSA: We asked a few TSA students about their experiences in the club. One question was will you continue to participate in TSA? Xander Atchison stated, “I would because I like robotics.” Asiah Laracuente shared, “I will stay in TSA until I leave this school.” We also asked members what they enjoy the most about TSA. Sahana Baskaran shared, “I enjoy building complex projects.” Nishant Gupta, Daniel Rodriguez, Mason Li, and Camden Meyers agreed, saying, “We make intellectual inventions. We get to use our imagination in our projects.” Lastly, when asked, “Why did you join TSA?” students highlighted their passion and enthusiasm for what the club offers. It’s clear that TSA is a place where creativity and innovation thrive!
TSA Projects: TSA has worked on many innovative projects, such as a small stove, battle bots, water rockets, and race cars! The mini stove was made entirely from soda cans. Here’s how they did it: they sanded the bottom third of two cans, cut one down, and added cotton inside. Then, they fit the two cans together and carefully poked holes in the top with thumbtacks. The result? A tiny stove that lights up with a flame through the holes! Another exciting project was the battle bots. Using materials like cardboard, hot glue, and motors, TSA created robots designed to battle each out in a friendly competition. Who wouldn’t love a good bot battle? But wait, there’s more! TSA also launched water rockets. The water rockets were connected to a tube and filled with pressurized air, sending them soaring high into the sky. These are just a glimpse of the many wonderful and fun projects TSA has created.
Overall, TSA is a great club that combines building, technology, and engineering. The students of TSA enjoy tackling creative, fun projects and sharing their innovative ideas. Are you ready to explore what TSA has to offer?
